AT THE FOOT OF MOUNT MERU
The academy is located in the north-eastern part of Tanzania. Close to the equator, 30 km from Africa's highest mountain - and at the foot of our 'own' mountain - Mount Meru.
There is only 500 meters to the entrance of Arusha National Park, where elephants, giraffes and zebras are our neighbours.
We are located 1,300 meters above sea level and thus a fairly good climate. For football and other activities.
Tanzania has 60 million residents. A figure which, as a result of the increased prosperity, will grow alot in the next 10-20 years. The country therefore holds plenty of potential and talent for young role models. Role models who must help secure Tanzania's future. It is such talents and role models that we wish to produce. On and off the pitch.

From autumn 2024, you will have a good opportunity to visit the Young Boys Academy - and the boys. This is when we will open our cozy little Mount Meru Sports Lodge.
Then if you want to see the academy - and some of the very best Africa can offer in form of safari, trekking, Kilimanjaro, relaxation - then you should visit us when the lodge opens.
KLM flies directly from Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro airport, from where it is only a 30-minute drive to the academy and lodge.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER
If you want to experience something very special during your sabbatical, and if you have the courage to pass on some of our strong values to young boys from Tanzania... then you should apply to become a volunteer at the Young Boys Academy.
We have different roles for our volunteers: School/values-voluntary. Here you have to help the academy's teacher with the boys' schooling - and their personal development.
SoMe volunteer. Here you have to help us send pictures, videos and stories home to sponsors etc. - primarily via our SoMe platforms.
Football volunteer. Here you have to help our trainers on the training pitch - to develop the boys' skills.

Football and education in Tanzania – two platforms for success
At Young Boys Academy, we recruit young players from all over Tanzania, especially from areas like Mwanza, Arusha, Moshi and Dar es Salaam. When a player becomes part of the academy, he not only gets the opportunity to train professionally in football, but also the opportunity to receive a strong academic education. We believe that both football and school support are fundamental to giving young boys in Tanzania the best chance to succeed in life.
Our unique location and facilities
The academy is located 1,300 meters above sea level and offers a perfect climate for both football and other activities. We are close to Arusha National Park, and our neighbors are wild animals such as elephants, giraffes and zebras, which provides a unique experience for the boys, who both get in touch with nature and a safe place to develop. The beautiful location also supports the experiences that visitors can have if they want to combine a visit to the academy with a safari or trekking on Kilimanjaro.
How you can help Young Boys Academy
As an NGO, we rely on support from both individuals and companies who want to help young talents in Tanzania. There are many ways to support, from becoming a sponsor for a player, to supporting the daily operations of the academy. Your help will go directly to ensuring that we can offer these young boys a better future through football and education. You can also choose to become a sponsor for a boy and follow his journey at the academy.

You can rent the Mount Meru Sports Lodge, which offers comfortable guest cabins, and gain an insight into the life-changing journey the boys go through. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to experience the best of Tanzania with safari, trekking and relaxation in the beautiful surroundings.
