THE VISION
We want to develop role models.
We do this by developing the football talent of boys aged 10-18, while also educating them. The goal is for them to become role models off the football field as well.
Specifically, it is our vision to develop boys who, if they do not become professional footballers, will be offered a job in one of our companies and projects. In Denmark or in Tanzania.
That is why we call Young Boys Academy 'Two Chances': Football or Business

FOOTBALL
Every year, we recruit talented young players aged 10 from all over Tanzania.
27 boys have moved into the academy since we opened our doors in January 2024. In a couple of years, we will reach our maximum of 40-42 boys.
10,000 hours of football training
With up to 7-8 years of football training at the academy, the boys will be close to achieving the magical 10,000 hours of planned and challenging training, which research shows is the minimum required to become truly skilled.
The goal is that in 10 years, we will have developed at least 5 national team players in Tanzania.

EDUCATION
Recruitment
We don't just assess football talent. It is at least as important that the boys get a strong academic education, so that they have two platforms to succeed from.
Primary School: Silverleaf
We have found a school in the area with values closest to ours – Silverleaf Academy. The school is present at the recruitment, which also undergoes a pre-exam test.
Secondary School: Alianga
Silverlief currently only has a Primary school, so we have found Alianga Secondary School for the oldest boys. It is within walking distance and is a good school with good values.
Own school teacher
At the academy, we have employed our own local school teacher, partly to support the school work and with him a guarantor of our holistic view at the academy. In addition, he will act as a kind of substitute parent.
Young Boys Academy offers a unique opportunity for young people in Africa, where we combine football and school as platforms for development. Through our football academy in Tanzania, we help children achieve both sporting and academic success. We are proud to be a Danish NGO that works to support young people in Africa, so that they can achieve their dreams and create a better future.
Education and football in Africa
At Young Boys Academy, we believe that both education and football in Africa are strong platforms for creating successful young men. Our academy offers intensive football training while the boys receive a solid education through partnerships with local schools such as Silverleaf Academy and Alianga Secondary School. This holistic approach helps the children develop both physically and mentally.
Together we make a difference!
As a Danish NGO, we are dedicated to creating positive change for children in Tanzania. Our goal is to offer young boys a chance to develop through sport and education. Our charity in Africa gives boys in Tanzania the opportunity to receive training, schooling and support that they would not otherwise have access to. Your support can make a difference in their lives and help them reach their full potential.
Help us create future role models
Young Boys Academy aims to develop the football stars of the future in Tanzania. We strive to create young talents who will not only excel on the football pitch, but also be role models in their local communities. Through targeted training and education, we help them achieve the necessary 10,000 hours of training that research shows is needed to master any discipline.
Support a holistic football academy in Tanzania
We are much more than just a football school in Tanzania. We are a place where young boys are given the opportunity to develop into responsible adults through both sports and academics. Your support can help ensure that these boys receive the necessary training, education and support to achieve their dreams.
Help us help Tanzania
There are many ways you can help Tanzania. One of them is by helping to change the lives of the young boys at the Young Boys Academy. You can sponsor a player or an entire team, or choose to support specific needs such as the football pitch, training clothes or schooling. All funds go directly to the running of the academy, and your support helps to create a positive change in the lives of these children.
How you can become part of the Young Boys Academy
Supporting Young Boys Academy is an investment in the future leaders and talents of Africa. We are part of a larger movement of charity in Africa that works to create long-term change in the lives of children.
