David is 9 years old and started in January 2024 in Standard 5 (5th grade) at Silverleaf Academy.
David was born and raised in Mwanza, which is Tanzania's second largest city, located 300-350 kilometers to the west - all the way to Lake Victoria.
David's father is an engineer and together with him David has moved to Arusha in connection with father's work (Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority). David's mother works in business. Both of David's parents are originally from the Sukuma tribe, which is one of the very large tribes especially in the area around Lake Victoria and the Serengeti.
David's favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo, but his favorite club is not a club Ronaldo has previously played for... it is the blues from Manchester - Manchester City.
Like all our boys, David's dream is to become a professional footballer, but he is also interested in what is happening in Tanzania, because his best subject at school is social studies/history.
Help us secure David's 'two chances' to become a Tanzanian role model. Either with football – or education – as a platform. When you sponsor David, you sponsor the entire academy.

Your membership
Young Boys Academy, Tanzania, is a member-based international NGO.
When you choose to support one of our boys, you and your family automatically become members of the association. Normal price 500 DKK. for a family membership.
You will receive a quarterly newsletter about life at the academy in Tanzania. You will also be invited to the annual general meeting, which we hold every year at the end of June, just as you will regularly receive offers to visit our academy and lodge in Tanzania.
The quota goes fully to the operation of the association, possibly membership gifts and general meetings.
A family membership is for the whole family - in the same household.
Terms of agreement for fixed contributions / sponsorships
When you choose to become a contributor/sponsor at Young Boys Academy, Tanzania, you enter into an agreement for a fixed contribution.
When you enter into an agreement to pay a fixed contribution, the agreement runs from the day you register as a fixed contributor until the end of the calendar month in which you terminate the agreement. Your contribution to, or sponsorship of, Young Boys Academy, Tanzania is a voluntary collaboration, which you can terminate in writing at info@youngboysacademy.com
If your sponsored child stops at the academy for one reason or another, the sponsorship will automatically continue with a new sponsored child, and you will of course be informed.
We would like to point out that there is no right of withdrawal for contributions or sponsorships that have already been made.

We want to develop national team players...
The Young Boys Academy has a stated goal of developing at least one U-national team player in 5 years - and at least one A-national team player in 10 years.
We believe that our state-of-the-art academy with strong coaches from both Tanzania and Denmark will give our boys the best opportunities to succeed.
… but we also want to make role models!
Our boys will receive the best imaginable education in Tanzania, and that, combined with our academy's thoughts about the whole – holistic – person, means that we are sure that our boys will become great role models in the Tanzania of the future. Even if it might be with something other than football.
